Default Another Newbie

Hi chaps, not long ago bought a 964 Turbo so I thought I'd pop my head in and say hi. Just seen a link to John Boggiano's North Wales run on another forum and since I live in the North West, I hope to meet a few of you in March

The car is a '91 3.3 that has been modified for track use. The engine has been built by Dave Perry and runs approx 430 BHP at 1 bar with an adjustable boost controller which is supposed to up the power to high 400's at 1.3 bar. I want to have the fuelling well checked out before we try that out though.

The car weighs 1,250kgs without fuel, the spare wheel and jack, having had most of the sound deadening and much of the interior trim removed. The doors are aluminium and the boot/rear spoiler is carbon fibre. It's also got a full cage, Recaro Profi SPG seats, harnesses, perspex windows etc.

The suspension is an adjustable H&R set up and stopping is achieved with 993 RS calipers. Since it's mainly been used for trackdays the set up is on the jaw braking side of firm at the moment but to be honest I couldn't care less, it's an absolute hoot to drive......so it's getting used on the road too.

It still needs a proper wash and wax but here are a few pics.

It's an exhaust from the wastegate. The previous owner was having problems reaching the "drive by" sound limit on trackdays, so had a bigger silencer fitted.

Didn't work because above 4K the car sounds like a rocket at launch thrust

Yeah, I love the colour. Wasn't sure about it when I first saw the advert for the car (bottom picture). Don't think it had been washed for a while and it looked very dull. Soon as I got it home it had a quick wash and the true colour really came out. The weather has been pretty horrible here recently so it's still not had a thorough wash and wax, but I'm looking forward to seeing it after a proper going over.

I felt compelled to post again, congratulating you on owning one of the most beautiful 964s I've ever seen.

Wow. I need to get a turbo...someday (in the mean time I'll have to make do with my current jalopy )
