Default 964 electrical problems

Help! I swapped a '91 964 engine into my '83 SC.It no longer has the diagnostic hook-up plug. My mechanic has checked and re-checked all the inputs to the dme, but it still sends instructions to the injectors that are way too rich(10% CO instead of 1-1/2%) We tried another DME and it did essentially the same thing. Both dme's were rebuilt by Vertech. It seems logical to me that the problem has to be in one of the dme inputs, but my mechanic insists he's checked them 4 different times. Has anyone run into this problem, and have suggestions? Thanks in advance, jfjfw

have you checked the fuel pressure at the rails?
I had a fuel pressure regulator fail that created a super over-rich condition.
