Hi Gang,
I've been intending to buy a 1987-1989 911 but came across this 1991
964 today and it intrigues me! Here is a link to the ad...

Looks nice. I like the color.
I have a 91 for the last 6 years. Its no better or worse then the other 964 years.

Nice looking car. I have a 92 Targa which I love. I like the unusual color of your prospect. As you probably already know, an unbiased PPI is worth every penny. Seems like a very fair price considering the mileage. Maybe make sure the new leather seats are well done? Best of luck in your decision. Keep us posted on your process. Hope it works out!

It looks nice.
From the pictures: It has the 964 "smile", fairly easy to correct.
It also has what appears to be a "linen" color interior, depending on the carpet color, if they are linen as well, they are very difficult to keep clean. This is based on personal experience. Also, it looks like it is at the original height, which could mean old and tired suspension.
Otherwise it would seem like a nice price, for a good car.

My wife has a '92 in that color and it is a fabulous!!! We just bought a ’91 and frankly I don’t see or feel much dif in them. But I do plan on updating the ’91 to later rear caliper, RS suspension and other things
A proper PPI is a must no matter what year!

that is a great color...my friend has a 1973 911s in that color and it is beautiful and rare.
along with a PPI, make sure you check out the front and rear windshield seal areas for rust bubbles as this is very common on 964's and 993's
i purchased my california owned 964 last year and it had minor rust bubbles at the lower windshield seal...my point is that west coast cars are subject to this problem too.
it can be an expensive fix if the rust is severe...

[from ad] "More serious issues addressed include the replacement of both upper and lower valve cover gaskets (both banks), right camshaft/power steering seal, exhaust manifold gasket, spark plugs, belts, and C/V boot replacement."
-Also, CV boot, instead of a half-axle replacement? Could point to a cheapie's way out.
-The old plugs would of been nice to see (PPI), I guess...
Absent real issues this looks like a very pretty car.
Only, when a dealer goes selling one like this for such a Really comely price, my Spidey Sense gets to twitching.

Hi All,
Thanks very much for the feedback. I know the color is a bit unusual but it looks good to me!
I've always been partial to "out of the norm" colors though. I may try to take it out for a drive this
weekend. The price is high, according to Kelley Blue Book, but I don't think Kelley's valuations
of these cars is up to speed with the current market.
Thanks again for the tips.....[rust around seals....etc....]
