9m restoration of "Kermit" (1990 Championship winning 964 Trophy Cup)
#16
I'm hoping to soon be building a supercharged version of the 9m 3.82 litre race engine which we may decide to drop into the back of a 964 Speedster. Hey, and that's the same 964 Speedster which we will be soon fitting with the World's first set of 964 carbon brake discs which will shoe-horn inside its carbon Dymag wheels.
Will that be boring enough for you?

OK, you're right, let me rephrase my comment. How about the World's first carbon brakes on a 964 that will get driven (no offence intended, Bob), and the first carbon brakes that you can buy if you want them. Yeah, that's better.

Adaptation of the 996 gt3 MkII 350 brakes or a new design for the 964/993 series?
i was looking at adapting the 350mm GT3 setup at one point however another project got in the way (i was looking at AP rotors with custom hats and an hydrolic parking brake setup.

Colin, that is such a neat car. I am a big fan of Viper green as well as Mint green. These are some of my favorite colors for these cars, so I'm glad that you are in the process of restoring this beast!!

This is a unique piece of the 964 history - the best would be imo to restore the car as original as can be.
There are a lot of other cars available which can be modified in the one or other way - this one not (in my eyes a supercharger would be a sacrilege).
Best regards
Stefan

It's a 964 Speedster that's getting the supercharged 3.82 litre 9m engine and carbon brakes. The Carbon brakes are not PCCB's, unfortunately Porsche kind of take the p!55 with their price of new discs so we have sourced alternative products, I'll post more on this later on a separate thread once we have them on the car.

I'm running non-floating 350 discs + 6 pot AP's on the front of my 993RS CS, if you fit 993 uprights to your 964 I could make you a set up easily. They are good, but best of all we use their most cost effective disc to keep the price reasonable.

Pics of first 964 with 997 turbo carbon calipers and 350mm cast rotors. I would have beat you to the carbon rotors if I could afford them. Have 15mm spacers made to go under bolt to space out for 380mm carbon rotor when I can afford them. So in a round about way I was the first.
