Freshly painted wheels ready to fit. Unfortunately funds won't stretch to a new set of Michelin Cups so we're having to make do with a set of SO2's for now. Ho Hum.

George,
The jury is still out but the earlier posts show there were at least 2 signal green cars in at least one 1990 race. I posted up pictures on page 5.
There is a tie up in my LS series Cup records from the VIN no. to the race no. I have proof on the VIN 005 and Race No.5 car. It just so happens the No.7 car matches the VIN on this car. Not evidence but worth digging deeper.
The Wagenpass office (as posted above) confirmed the registered keepers of my Cup. It is not too difficult to trace through. No7 car was driven by V. Columbo and run by Max Moritz. The Manthey car was 22 and 33 depending on the races. Cars swapped nos. maybe due to damage in some races. I have the 1990 series on DVD so have the evidence to support this.
I don't expect Colin is selling the car so he can display any stickers he likes on the car. I did mine up in the Maxcom colours of Harald Grohs then traced the car to J.P. Jarrier and owned by MMI in Monaco.
It was registered by AG Porsche in 1990 but don't have race history for that year. It was sold to MMI in March 1991.
Olaf Manthey is still alive so not too difficult to get to the bottom of things if so inclined.
The car does look great just in time for Oulton!

The trooper may never let on, but Kermie's looking great! Well done.

Going on to the trailer for the RS trackday tomorrow.
Of course, there is absolutely no intention to take it on track....

.. I don't know if your kidding or not, and I know you built this car to drive, but that would seem like an unlikely place to do a 'shakedown' test run ... am I wrong?

Well, whilst Kermit made it to Oulton Park it unfortunately had the last laugh on us by having an unexpected battery charging fault that prevented us running it in the morning. On the RS trackday allparticipants take great pride in maintaining a clear track, so having to park Kermit on the grass verge & have to wait for recovery was not an option we wanted to risk.
In the end we sent one of our lads back to the shop for parts, hence following a "quick" change of the alternator and main fuse board in the pit garage during lunch we were finally ready to venture out in the afternoon session. I drew the short straw, donned a helmet & ventured forth .....
.... and aside from a relative lack of grip from the old Brigestones it was fantastic. In the 2 years it has been off the road I had forgotten how truly light, balanced & nimble the Cup cars are. The only downside was that the ABS system decided not to function - as I found out to my cost going into Knickerbrook chicane on the second lap.
With no grip & no ABS, even if Lewis Hamilton had been driving it I doubt that Kermie would have kept up with the other RS's, Cup cars & fleet of GT3RS's so after a decent shake down self-presevation forced me to return Kermit to the safety of the pits. Why self preservation? Well, we could not fit a windcreen mirror as the button came off the screen and when the tiny 935 door mirrors proved complete ineffective (I could only see behind me on RH bends!) I spent more time looking behind me rather than concentrating on my lines. Ho hum.
Final snag list:
1. Electrical check through & trace charging problem
2. ABS fix
3. Screen Mirror
4. Slicks
And for those who were there, I'd rather not comment on Marc's drive, thank you very much.

The car is simply stunning, Colin, and that seems to me to be a small list of repairs considering Kermit was stripped down to a bare metal shell only a few short weeks ago... Congrats! Any more pictures of the 'field'?
