Default acceleration sensors

Does a 964 C2 1993 have acceleration sensors?,I am having a rebirth of the "christmas tree effect" and my mechanic think those are the cause of it, I didnīt know a C2 had them.... is it true?

I don't think so but will be interested to hear what others say. As far as I know, the acceleration sensors are only on the C4's.

Jim

The TIP does have one. It's in the center console, accessed from a 2"x4" carpeted panel on the pass side just where it begins to turn upward.

The fun part is getting it out, there are 2 screws holding it in (yes it, as a TIP has only one), the front screw is easy, but the rear one is, shall we say, a bit troublesome. Took mine out a couple of months ago, it was perfectly clean and operable, so now, I have peace of mind.

Suggest you try the plug wire and coil replacement first to resolve the Christmas Trees!

I think dirty accellerometers usually result in a more restricted tree, primarily lighting up the the PDAS warning light.

Get a new mechanic...
Have you check the solder points in the clock? There are threads about it.
Good luck

Thanks altarchsa and oracle!!!, and yes I am now getting a restricted tree only one light (ABS) on and the general warning light that you can disconnect from the switch in the console.
Wires, coils, dist caps and rotors have all been recently changed and to add more info I get this light only if a have a passenger beside me never when driving alone

Only C4's have the longitudinal accelerometer, rear one in the center tunnel. Both C2's and C4's have the Lateral Accelerometer, front one.
