Default Rear speaker question

For those who have replaced their rear speakers do you think the factory grill will go over these?

Infinity Reference 6422cfp

if this is the type of installation you want to end up with....

speaker size has to be 4in. and relatively shallow mount (this install included alpine sps 400's 4" coax, low mount.) which are 1 12/16.

assume you are also swapping out the stock amp which is really the problem in the audio system - if not reconsider.

cheers

I think your car is a Cab? Mine is a coupe so the rear deck takes 4X6". Old posts show that the Infinity 6412 CFP fits with the factory grill but those are not made anymore. Yep, the amp will go to.

Steve - it should fit as the profile is flat so the cover will not be obstructed. What you may find is the lower half of the cover needs some serious modification to allow the speakers to fit in the hole using the existing retaining holes/screws so that the upper half can clip together...

Hope that makes sense.! I fitted some new rear speakers and had to remove all the old speaker parts and a lot of the other plastic in the bottom half. It looks stock but the sound quality is much better. The old speakers had perished quite badly.
