Calling any Orlando Rennlister
Anyone in the Orlando area want to help me out. I'm flying into Orlando to look at a car tomorrow (Sat 26th). This is going to be my first 964, not too sure what to look for, used to drive a 996, so any one with some experience would be helpful. Need to drive the car back to Toronto Canada, so I want to make sure its gonna make it.
I land at 12:45pm at Orlando airport and the car is close to Winter Park. Willing to compensate with beer and a good meal for the assistance.

We met up with Nick yesterday. Wachuko (Jaime) picked Nick up from the airport and then went to the strange sellers house with him and completed the purchase. They then came to my house where we put it on the lift did a look around underneath, topped off the air in the tires and added oil. For the killer price he got the car looks good and the engine sounds tight. After leaving here he headed to Jaime house for some spare belts and DME relay and then was driving it back to Canada. It was great meeting another Rennlister from the great white north

Nick you must be going through customs by now. Report back when you get home.
Engine sounded great btw.
Here are a few recommendations in order of importance, imho of course, from what I saw:
Remove engine tray and clean/degrease the engine
Replace all the oil lines we spoke about
A few threads to help:
Oil leak (and need PET help) UPDATE: Leak found added pictures
Page 10,11 of my thread
Here is a partial list of what you will need:
#21 - 964.207.241.04
#22 - 964.207.251.02
#26 - 964.207.217.00
#30 - 964.207.130.02
#46 - 964.207.254.07 (this is the one that was leaking badly)
#54 - 964.207.252.14 (this one just check after cleaning... no sense in spending the $$ if this one is fine)
Get the alu washer to replace them (some leaks are due to corroded aluminum washers)
N.013.813.2 (you will need 1)
900.123.139.30 (get at least 6)
Wrench set (PEL-TOL-P242) (believe me... nothing else works in that limited space...)
Also get two new rubber support for the oil tank (bonded rubber buffer):
#3 - 999.703.324.00 and 999.703.246.00
and get the proper clips for that side fin/sill... that spray on foam the PO used to hold it in place it is just not right...
Rubber strip: (#6) 964.559.295.01 for the shark fin
Clips: (#4) 999.507.373.00 (need 2)
and get a few plastic nuts (#15) 999.049.022.40 (get like 10 of these, you will use them in many places)
Also, check the battery connections. A couple of starts sounded like a tired starter. Could have been a week battery or poor cable connection. Charge the battery, clean the connections to the battery and at the starter end.
Bleed the brakes and clutch.
I hope that helps! Everything else you can take your time fixing.
Even with the few things you need to fix, that car was a great buy!

Just a quick update, wife is complaining she hasn't see me in 3 days and already on the computer. Will post pics soon.
Made it home safely, again thanks to Jim and Jaime, these guys are great guys. Extremely helpful and insightful. Don't think I would have made it out of Florida if not for Jim and espcecially Jaime. Jaime, you and your wife have to come to Toronto so I can repay the hospitality. Saturday was uneventful, nice drive to South Carolina. Sunday morning, noticed the oil was low again, topped it up but think I topped it too much. The next 8 hours was kinda stressful, oil meter was bumping up and down and when I stopped for gas, noticed a nice spray of oil along the rear quarter and deck lid!!!! Decided to try and wipe off to see how bad it was. The next spray was not as bad, but still there. Finally when I entered into Pennslyvania, the oil leveled off and no more spray. Don't think too much damage was done.
US Customs was a breeze, Canadian Custom just a pile of paperwork and finished in about an hour. Went to my father-in-laws garage for a Safety Certificate and Emissions Test then the local MTO (DMV) and got it all transferred into my name.
Went up to Nineapart Porsche dismantler, picked up the wiring harness for the rear lights and the plastic piece that diverts the air over the motor and made my way home.
Great drive, great experience, great car and most importantly met some very GREAT people, not the seller - thats a new topic on its own.....
Thanks again Jim and Jaime for all the help and getting me on my way.

Good to hear you made it back without to much trouble! You must not have been paying attention when we were showing you how to put the oil in the car
Just kidding. Most everybody over fills at least one

I advised them 4 weeks ago. That's how long I have been trying to put this deal together and how difficult the PO was being.....
But all in all, I'm very happy with my purchase and the car is actually in better shape than I expected. The motor pulled strong and everything worked.
