Is the battery connected?

That's impressive....

Before spending the hours hunting for a high current draw I would take the battery to be load tested first. I had 2 cells in my Optima battery fail and replaced under warranty.
Yup, it's fine and they fully charged it overnight.

OK, so will take the advice on the boards and disconnect the interior, glovebox and lights in the boot (didn't even know there was one).

ditto - if mine is going to sit for more than a few days I plug the tender in. The unit I got from Battery Tender has inline plugs to allow for easy connect / disconnect. $40 - end of problems.

This used to happen to mine, until I replaced the rubber caps on the light switch plungers in the door jambs, which were completely shot. My theory is that whenever i washed the car, some water would get in and short the contacts.

Now I keep one of those battery condition LED indicators plugged into the cig socket all the time: if I can see the green light I know it's OK (it's also handy for checking the alternator's working while driving). If I know that I'm going to be going away, I plug in a Porsche battery conditioner to the cig socket.

Finally I can get some sleep at night.

**when you disconnect the hot leads(wires)make sure you tape the ends with electrical tape and completely cover the ends so they do not short out and remain a problem

Also, if you have an aftermarket HU, and the alarm system wire on the HU frame isn't taped over properly it will drain the battery. There are write-ups on how to fix this here on rennlist.
