Default Poroject Shrek: pull it out, clean it a bit

Today was a great day with this project. We arranged with my mechanic to pull the car out and clean it for a complete assessment of the bodywork.

The pulling out happened without pics, but the covers are still where they were, half buried under dirt that came down the mountain on the left side.

A cleanup was performed, with no emphasis on shine, but on getting all the dirt off the car, mainly that which accumulated in the shuts and on the engine (the car was parked without a rear bumper or lid). two sequental foamings dissolved a kiloton of dirt, and now one can touch the car without needing a clean afterwards.

The rear fender suffered from a snow slide from the roof of the barn and is dented. The rear middle light block is cracked and the right light is missing a corner. The left light is ...gone. Things to add to the "must find" list. The fuel tank, alternator, rear wheels, door sills, sharkfins, rear bumper outer parts are found already. I BADLY need a rear bumper alloy beam. The front lid has a wide shallw dent. Not sure what to do with it. I do have an alloy lid for it, but the first year will be focused on mechanical things, not cosmetics.

So I am looking for:
-rear bumper alloy beam
-rear lights, all three,
- if anyone has a pair of 9X16 D90s, I'm all ears...

George- do you plan to paint it, or just polish and hope there's paint left under the scratches?

Hawk,
No paint besides the obvious for now. It has been repainted in a few places already, so paint thickness is not an issue for a polish, that I'll perform once I take delivery.

The back wheels look retro cool. Similar to the old school rally wheels that Porsche made their name.

Yes. They are 6X15 steelies. Makes me want to get a set with high aspect ratio aggressive winter tires for those few snowy winter days.
D90s are being cleaned up /touched up however.

That would definitely be a real head turner to have a snow/rally set up for the car.

Have you considered getting the D90s polished? It really changes the look of the wheel.

I love the looks, but for a daily driver (summer and winter), they would be too much work. I am getting 7 and 9s for the summer though.

If you still need them, I have a set of 8x16 (and 6x16's) D90's. They are not very clean, but a refinishing would set them right. If you are interested let me know and I can have them refinished before they head your way. PM me if they will work.

Ian,
You are very kind, thank you. I do however now have the correct setup of wheels.

No problem, I was having the same issues finding wheels last month, I finally settled on a set of 17" Boxster twist wheels for my track wheels. Good luck, I think the car will look great!!
