Yes, there is a DIY on one of the Porsche websites, I'll try to find it for you. There is a tab that must be bent or modified and the wiring has to be matched, but do-able.

There is a seat adapter available, but I believe it can be done without it, perhaps with more problems.

It does work - did it on my car that's for sale using full power leather 996 seats that had the memory function. Required welding brackets, and matching up the wiring.
