Default Camaro muffler

I'm going to put a new exhaust system on my 964 C2. I found a Magnaflow muffler that is 2.5" inlet with 2.5" outlet on both sides. It's made for a camaro/firebird V8 engine. Should fit on the car nicely. Would anyone see any issues with this muffler? Trying to do a muffler system for less than 600 bucks including a cat-bypass.

http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...e=main&id=7989

Thanks.

We use a flowmaster Camaro muffler on race cars and it works fine - 2 in 2 out which requires more space due to the additional piping. Similar, but not the same. As long as it fits behind the bumper cover then I don't see any issues with it.

Geoffrey-

Do you happen to have a sound clip of the setup you mentioned?

I tried to search on the correct diameter of the stock pipes. I couldn't find the exact size, but found something close that they are 166mm which is about 2.5". That is probably the size of the headers in the heat exchanger. When I get home in the next two weeks, I'm going to measure the stock pipes to be sure. Magnaflow does make a 3" application as well.

Would the Magnaflow provide more power or is the swap more for a deeper sound?

I realize now that I wrote the wrong numbers for the mm. I meant 63. It was almost 2am here in Iraq when I wrote that. I was a bit tired. Good catch. Thanks.

Anyone know it it's 2.5 or 3" coming off the cat?

Kind of a long shot, but, where in Iraq are you? You can PM me if you like.

Went home on leave. Talked with the body shop to get my ducktail and rear bumper part installed & painted on 17th of Aug. (The exhaust piping is 3")Talked to the exhaust shop to get a plan down. I'm going to have a cat made for the car plus SS piping in and out of the muffer to tips. This guy built the "Volvette" for another guy. (Search it on you tube) Now he's building a 944 to beat that...

Ilko, that is nice! Makes me even more excited now... Thanks for the clip!
