What are they like to drive? I have heard the air-cooled turbos are an experiment in turbo lag. I have no idea if that is true. 320 hp seems low IMHO. Isn’t Ninemeisters making significantly more hp NA? The TPC supercharger is +350.
Although I love the idea of a 964 turbo, I do not know the real world application.

Perhaps, but I am not sure words will explain the situation. The 3.3 turbo is 20 year old technology to be generous. So what is the allure compared to what tuners are doing now for less money and more hp? I am not being argumentative, I just do not understand.
Are you offering?

Same reason you love your NA 911 over a Civic Si or an Acura TL or a Dodge Neon SRT4. HP and other published numbers do not do justice to the true performance of a 911...turbo or normally aspirated. I love NA engines, for their reliability and more immediate nature. But, the single turbo Porsche's are also great for thrills. Sure one can say it's turbo lag (the half empty crew), but I just say it's countdown for liftoff (the half full guys). 911's provide grin factors that are hard to match by any marque out there....turbo or not.

I guess you don't know if you don't ask.

I agree that it must be hard to imagine what one of these "old" 964 turbos is really like. Some very simple bolt on mods get you 400 hp+. There is nothing more invigorating than sitting in one of those 15 year old rocket sleds enjoying the raw power and performance. You have to drive one to understand one.
