I know have a real dilemma.

The plan was to turn the car (which is currently rather hard-core, in appearance at least) back into a 'comfy' 964, with a linen leather interior and so on. Trouble is, I am now falling in love with its new persona - more hard-core, with RS-style interior, Cat-bypass, lightweight stuff and all. It's noisier on the road than I'd really like, but somehow I'm starting to appreciate even that. The interior stuff has been done beautifully, which helps.

Decisons, decisions...

Will do - but it's now raining too heavily to go outside and I'm (meant to be) working...

Just my 2 cents....maybe just the wheels? That would cut out some of the 'hardcoreness' without tampering too much....unless you like them of course!

The interior looks really nice, I'd leave it alone. I also prefer the 930 Sport steering wheel, but it's not my car, so...

I'd leave it alone too. The more I think about mine, the more I'd prefer to have a black interior with sports seats rather than the beige I currently have.... hmmm...

Welcome back to owning a proper 911 John!

Yes, I may go back to that wheel - or perhaps have it trimmed in Alcantara. Mmmm...

I've had that Momo a long, long time though and I do love it - it just feels so light and really bolted directly to the steering rack like no other wheel I've ever tried. Having said that, I only drove the 964 with the Turbo wheel before I'd fixed the tyre pressues, which were at 26psi all round - something that obviously won't have helped my opinion of it.

Here's how the interior used to look.

I can even get these hard-shell seats converted to full electric - which is pretty essential for Paula. I really do like the fact that the seat backs and the doors feel so light when moved, and yet still really solid too. Nice.

Can't help thinking the car is a touch too noisy inside now, though - but then again I do like that more driving-focused feeling that comes with that. Told you it was a dilemma!

Obviously you have to drive your car JB and its a matter of personal taste. However, my $0.02, for what its worth, would involve removing the emblem from the back seat as soon as humanly possible, if nothing else.

If it was mine, I would follow the original plan for the retrim (and original seats) as it really would feel 'new' and retain that 'classic' 964 look. That's just me however....

The wheels do look nice and its easy enough to swap them out so I would maybe leave for a while and see how I felt.

Both steering wheels look good. I had the sport one on my C4 and loved it but it must be nice to use the momo as I am sure it brings back the memories.

Decisions, decisions....

Do you know where the carpet now in there is from, ie the rear especially.

Man, wish I was there with my random orbital...

that photo with your finger picking away the signage foam/adhesive & left-over wax got my polishing finger itching!

Here's how it's go:
  1. I'd let you get your fingernail all gunked up with foam adhesive as you picked off the foam and wax remnants.
  2. Then, I'd hit the area with tar and wax remover to clean off lingerers.
  3. Give it a quick small area wash and rinse.
  4. Clay it.
  5. Polish that baby to glistening finish.
  6. Set down some blue painter's tape to guide the '2's placement.
  7. Then, watch you flop that little 2 in place.
Perfect! Beautiful! Done!

At least that's what flashed to mind with that one photo...

Southbound - and if you think it looks good in the pictures, it looks even better in reality - a stunningly good job.
