Radio Removal Pics
I couldn't find anything that showed how to remove the stock radio/head unit. There were several threads that discussed it, but no pics.
1. There are small clips on either end of the radio that need to come off. These can be pried off with your fingernail or a pocket knife.
2. Cut the bottom length off of a pair of standard wire hangers (I would recommend against the plastic coated kind). Bend them into a "U" shape.
3. Insert the "U" shapes into the two sets of holes in the head unit. These do not need to be inserted very far. Maybe 1 to 1.5 inches, just enough to push the little stops out of the way.
4. Reach up behind the glove box until you find the radio and give it a push. Once it is sticking out of the dash a little bit, it is easy to pull out the rest of the way.

good tip. When I put the new radio in, it came with aluminum strips to use for the same purpose. They usually have the horseshoe things in the kit if you buy an install kit.
