Default More advice please. Electrical...

Hi guys, more fun, last night the battery/charging light started glowing, quite dim, the brake pad warning lights came on, the dashboard alarm started 'bonging' and the car started to 'stutter'. Radio went off, and the car would not rev, turned head-lights off and engine picked up slightly. Limped home, dead battery.
I charged it over night, and today took a reading across the terminals, 12.89 Volts.
Re-connected to car, started engine and tested voltage, 9.7 Volts.
Am I to assume the alternator is shot?
I've been looking for a link to testing - removal, but to no avail, as before, any help gratefully received, cheers. R

Hi Raymond! Yep, sounds like the alternator has gone bad to me. If you rev the car to about 3000rpm, does the voltage change? If so, then it's the voltage regulator within the alternator.
