Some have had this pipe/hose rebuilt by a local shop, however there has not been 100% success rate at that. Thus there was no way an independent shop could properly orientate the rubber to the pipe correctly. Even when the pipe does not rotate, the local shops may not get it done correctly.
Steve, I believe that successfully making a replacement oil line requires a little bit of parts sourcing, research and engineering effort.
Here in the Detroit area there are businesses that routinely make hydraulic hose rated to 5000 psi. The 70 psi of oil that our cars push through that -16 hose is really no big deal if a hose is made by knowledgeable people. I work in manufacturing so I was able to make my hose at work.

Basically, what we're looking at here is a AN-16 hose and DIN spec ends.

When I made my line I was able to source the crimp collars from Cohline, who is the O.E.M. for Porsche. I used the long pipe fitting from the old line, some new crimp collars and hose and a new straight fitting at the feed end (Turbos don't have the 45 degree fitting that the C2/4's do). I used the same final crimp dimension of the collars that Cohline used for our cars and had it crimped.

If the line you had made was swiveling then it wasn't crimped down to the proper diameter.

I did not phrase that correctly. My existing hose was rotating. I bought new from Porsche.

Have you thought of rebuilding these on the side?

Yes.
Looking for my first customer.
My old hose was swiveling too. When I cut it apart to salvage the ends the rubber was petrified.

Great thread! It turned out that the source of my leak was coming from the washer on the oil filter mount too.

Does anyone know how/where to source the adapter fittings on the oil filter mount? Are they the same as the thermostat fittings? #43 in the PET diagram on the first page of the thread pn# 900.915.008.09 ?

Mine are sorely corroded and I do need to replaced some of those lines as preventative maintenance.

My 964 got oil leak on passenger side on part #1 and #2 (two flexible oil hoses). I went to hydraulic shop and got them replaced with new flexible oil hose crimped. It only cost $104 total.

The way I read PET, that adapter is part of the oil filter bracket, not sold separately. Could it be the same as #43 on the diagram? Not sure. Does the fitting have pitting on the sealing surface? If not, maybe you can clean up the adapter and re-use it.

Wachuko has a wide body car. The narrow body cars don't have fender liners in the rear wheel wells. What style of car do you have?
