Default Help - Fitting Tail to '92 C2 - hit a snag!!

I'm replacing the motorized spoiler on my '92 C2 with a tail from an "87. Dimensions are all OK - HOWEVER - looks like the lid bracket on the '92 is in a different position than the '87, probably due to the electric motor, so the hinge on that side does not match the '87.
Suggestions would be appreciated on how to overcome this speed bump in an otherwise smooth process.
Thanks,

The hinges are different, you will have to create your own. Not a big deal, you can go to a hardware store, get some L-shaped aluminum brackets and drill holes in them. You can also do a search here, there are a few threads on the subject.

Thanks ilko and HAB5000 - appreciate the info and advice.
Seems like a competent body shop guy out to be able to figure out the l-shaped bracket idea!

I had a body shop in NJ make brackets for me when I installed my factory RS America wing on my 90 C2...The wing needed to be painted anyway.

Yes same here had aluminum brackets made.

There are brackets that can be purchased they are used on the RSA and turbo models P/N 965.512.019.00 and 965.512.020.00 Although it is probably cheaper and easier to go with the adapters.

I'll post some photos of the brackets I made. Took about 2 hrs to get everything fitting properly.

I've just fitted an '89 SC engine cover with spoiler onto my 964 hinges. I drew up the required attachment brackets and had a pair made. Picture of RHS part shown below.

I can get some fabricated if the numbers make it worth tooling up for. Let me know if anyones interested and I'll look into prices.
