I'd like to go for a cat bypass and chip upgrade. I've been looking at the
9tuning and promaxmotorsports chips. Does anyone have any experience of them, or are there others I should consider? Steve Wong in the US gets good write ups, but the cost is a lot higher.

Im about to fit an accell which I got off ebay....could be rubbish but was advised by a knowlegable chap....I have no cat, cup and open filter, 90k miles dyno 256 bhp....we will see what the chip does to improve. next big mod for me will be motec though

Will do it was only £50, the guy that told me to get it is now running 354 hp motec plus one...with out Accell chip of course but for low gains he said it was great...to be honest I dont really expect the car to be much different with small hp gains, under sort of 280- 290 I doubt I will notice any difference, Im looking for 320+ with the motec for real difference.

But check the write up on ebay for the chip.

I've got the ProMax chip in my car and was very impressed with the smoother drive immediately it was fitted. I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you regarding the power gains ... but it's a MUCH smoother delivery and more pleasant to drive. I haven't regretted it.

I have the Promax chip and MAF, smoother and longer legs would be my immeadiate impression....not mind blowing...."JESUS thats a different animal" if you understand what I mean by all that.

I dont seem to be able to get rid of it, or is it normal?
