harsh ride
My car is on new Bilsteins shocks but coupled to standard suspension settings AFAIK.
It also has 17 Cup 1 wheels and Yokohama Advan sport tires (also new)
I find the ride to be very very firm with 36 lbs air pressure all around, so firm indeed that I have to be careful in some streets and drive it slowly.
I am very pleased with the handling, on highways and or circuits the car goes really well but I wonder if it´s normal for the ride to be so firm

This seems to run parallel to my experience with the Bilstein's, though I was using aftermarket springs too. I thought the ride was pretty bad and kept trying to figure out how to improve ride quality. Finally ended up going with PSS9s and I like it better but the ride is still pretty firm. This decision came after sampling the setup on my buddies 993 and I thought the adjustability would help me out and largely that turned out to be true and the handling is now what I always envisioned.

Well, since this thread has turned into a comparison... I've been using Koni adjustable shocks on my last 2 964's and I'm very happy with them. They can be very soft or very stiff, all with a twist of a button. Even though they are not nearly as good as, say, JIC Cross, I like them. On my 91 C4 I used Eibach Pro Kit springs, and they were a bit on the soft side. WIth my RSA I have H&R reds, definitely stiffer than the Eibachs, but my car is also ~400lbs lighter.

I have original springs with Bilsteins, and have no complaints. Set up is the same as your's except for I have 16 inch wheels which have a little more rubber between the road and the rim. You might try dropping the tire pressure up front by a couple psi, and see if that makes a difference.

You may have to just settle with the current ride quality or get another suspension.

I would get rid of those stock springs and get a set of H&R springs. They are progressive rate springs versus the fixed rate springs that come from the factory. This will give you a more compliant ride around town but if you go to the track the spring rate increases as cornering loads increase. Lowering your rear tire pressure to 34 is not a smart move.

As Ilko said I must be careful with pot holes, and in my city we have plenty

Are you sure the setup is OK, should using the OE springs not give appox the same ride as before? Maybe try a higher setting on the shocks
I was looking at the blistein/HR Green route but am concerned about the ride on the bad Irish roads (I only do a couple of track days pa.), does the progressive rate HR springs not soften out the ride on the road. How big of a difference will this make on the stock setup on the road?

BTW - I'm on Bilsteins & H&R's with 16's for DE and 17's for the street, and although firm, I don't find them harsh.
