Default Eibach Lowering Springs

I am thinking of lowering my 964C2, primarilly for aesthetic reasons but I don't want to negatively impact cars handling.

Been offered free supply and fitting of progressive Eibach springs!

Will doing this have a meaningfully negative effect on cars handling on narrow not so smooth windy C roads as we call them in UK? Will car bounce off the road?!

Thanks in advance.

Only if the geo is not set up properly afterwards. You might get a bit more bump steer though when pushing on. I speak a little from experience - mine had lowering springs bunged on before I bought and it was like taking part in a rodeo down country lanes! . It was a different car after I had the geo done.

Mine has Eibach lowering springs, new Boge shocks, new A-frames and Geo set up at the same time on my road car. Went for the Boge standard rather than upgraded Bilsteins as it is a Targa and didn't want it to be too stressed. Great improvement more involving without being too harsh. Less roll and better turn in.

Watch the front on steep carpark ramps which have to be taken at a slight angle, it's fine over most speed humps. Even with this, it was well worth doing.

Mines a Targa so if I replace shocks I'll bear that in mind. Would I be mad not to put new shocks on? As springs plus labour are a freeby I'm tempted to leave shocks as I would not do this right now anyway if it werent free! But will 70k mile shocks work OK with new springs or am I asking for trouble?

Roygarth,

original Boge shocks are capable of much more than 70k, in "normal" use. Don' t worry about compatibility because Eibacks are quite soft, therefore won' t cause any bouncing problem.

Mine had Eibach's with stock dampers. Great ride and nice handling.

Anyone know the differences between the Eibach, H&R Greens and other springs kits available in the UK (e.g. Designtek)? My rear springs have sagged and am now looking to replace all four after having had Bilsteins put on a while ago. I have a C4 cab so not looking to get to RS ride heights just suspect these springs will be better than the OEM ones
