The only price I've found for the standard ones is about £160+VAT each from Design 911. The left and right standard mounts are different and there's about £5 difference in the price. I suspect this will be the same price as from an OPC. I'll be calling my OPC on Monday to check the price - they will usually give 10% discount if you ask so will end up being cheaper. I'll report back when I know.

FVD online sell the RS mounts - 333 euro for the set but I guess this is subject to VAT and shipping:

Good spot!

I like the idea of a group buy for the RS mounts and possibly the strengthening plate from Rennline:

http://www.rennline.com/products.asp?dept=806

The Wevo blue mounts come out at $298 + shipping and with the weaker dollar this makes them almost the same price as the RS mounts.

Trouble is I desperately want to change my shot mounts before a trackday I have booked in just over a week's time!

Steve, you should be able to change the motor mounts in a couple of hours, i am pretty shure if you call Gert tomorrow morning the mounts would get to you in approx 2 days +/-.

Installing the rennline mount would probably give you a week of down time if you are going to do it propperly.

3-4 hours of dismantling, having the support sand blasted, weld the rennline bit on and then have the whoule support powder coated again . . .
of course you could always just weld it on and spray paint it . . .

Edit: I will call Gert tomorrow morning as well.

I tried, but recognize that the tinware is part of the cooling system. Particularly at idle after a hard run, air off the red-hot exhaust is entering the engine compartment. An easy quick fix is to pop-rivet a strip of 20-gage galvanized sheet metal over the holes. That will hold until it is time to replace that during a clutch or engine repair.

Thanks Springer. That sounds like a good temporary repair as there's no need for any engine/trans work at the moment. As ever, when I find one job that needs doing (the mounts), I find another that needs doing too!

Don't 964 and 993 use the same mounts?

The PET manual shows the same #965.375.049.00 for a 964 C4/Targa/Cab and a 993 C2/Cab, so apparently some 964's and 993's use the same mount. I also have the same question, could this be a less expensive solution? Anyone?...Bueller?...Bueller?
Don't the 993 and 996 share mounts too? Anyone try 996 mounts?

Jerry,

Remember that the ones on ebay are for NA cars, the RS parts are usually somewhat more expensive.
What do the regular mounts cost at a dealership ?

In the UK the Porsche centres charge £184 for the left and £195 for the right. Both these prices include VAT. Because of my urgent need to replace mine I've ordered these and got a 15% discount on those prices (just asked them nicely ).

I'll probably upgrade to RS mounts later when I have the time to strengthen the carrier at the same time.

Extras are extra money for a professional mechanic, but a curse for the DIY - just more work. I am avoiding looking at my mounts for now, but next major service they will be in the "inspect" list.

I was wondering the same thing. I saw on wevo's site that the 996 could use the same mount as the 964/993 but the bolt supplied was too short. All you have to do is add a longer bolt. I'm not sure if the factory one with the stud will work though because of this. Seems to be some used good 996 mounts floating around.

Akerlie the link to ebay i put up there sais its for a 993 turbo so i figure maybe it could work. The only difference between turbo and normally aspirated mounts are the turbo needs a longer bolt. I think last time i checked the mounts were about 260 dollars a peice.
