Default Removing rear blower motor

I'm thinking to remove the whole assembly of rear blower motor as I don't need heat (I have no heat anyway as I already removed connecting pipe from blower tube to heat exchanger few years ago).

My plan is to take blower motor and pipes out, block the fan shroud with a piece of alumium plate (or something else), and drill 2 holes on the plate for distributor and rear lamp ventilation pipes. Since I don't need any heat, I think resistors to fool the system shouldn't be needed. Will there be any side effects if I do this? Any other modification I need to take to ensure A/C works? (or it just doesn't matter as long as I don't use heat?)

I think it should improve engine cooling as all air come from cooling fan will go to the top of engine instead of some go to blower pipe. Is that right?

My car is '90 C4 and I believe the CCU is early type.

Thanks!

I believe I read posts that mentioned that the blower does help when the car is shut off and the car is very hot.

That's my major worry. Theoratically block off the fan shroud should help engine cooling when running, but when shutting off, blower might help to cool the header. Since RS has no blower but with heat exchanger, is there any known heat issue?

The Euro RS has the same rear blower as the C2/C4.

Yes, there is one negative side effect in a non-air conditioned 964 which has had the CUP blower bypass pipe installed. You basically lose the ability to defog the windshield under certain conditions such as rainy weather and of course it gets worse if you have a passenger. You end up having to drive in the rain with the windows cracked and a towel or cloth in your hand. I experienced this first hand with my non-aircon 964 for several years in tropical Malaysia. However, in an air conditioned 964 , this window-fogging issue is probably not going to be a problem, even in subtropical Taiwan.
