The 996 is a nice experience but will be back in a 964 some day.

I saw it on the GGR website. Since I haven't run a PCA event in forever I didn't recognize the car. Possibly Tim Galen's old car? How long has the current owner had it?

I don't think it is Tim's old car Ken, but you never know.

He has been driving with GGR for at least 3 years with the car, maybe even longer than that.

It is a very nice car, and I was surprised to see the extremely low mileage.

Probably mostly track miles?

I just didn't remember many black delete option cars, of which I believe Tim's was. I do remember him putting it on its side in a lazy spin off of 8a at Sears in the '95 or '96 club race. (That was before they moved the hill practically back to Vallejo.) Only damage was the driver's mirror coming off. I don't even think he had to do any paintwork!

I remember that incident...
I was there working safety crew, driving the tow truck.

If we're going down memory lane, I seem to recall another car crashed quite heavily at the same time.......and I looked up and poor Tim was 90 degrees vertical to the road!

I think we had four full delete cars in the Bay Area when they first came out. Galen's (that I'm pretty sure was), Ken Masuda (lost in a BMW's oil slick going into 5 at Laguna), and a couple of other guys whose names escape me nearly 15 years later........ And Monte Smith who pounded out more racing miles on his than probably anyone, before he went off to just be chairman of Club Racing.

Back to the cars, it isn't even funny the difference from the Motorsports LSD in the yellow car v. the stocker in my RSA. Might has well have an open diff.......

Memory recall! I think Bill Benz's was, too. Not that he ever raced, or even time trialed it. He'd always show up with his 4 cam Speedster to the autocrosses way back when.
