I did the bleed of the locks. Would be great if I could compare notes with someone else that has done this. I had to keep executing the process until the new brake fluid came out... does not seem normal. I thought you would just hit the button and it would open the lock and activate the pump until you stop it. Did not work like that, I kept pressing the function/button until I saw the new fluid coming out. Good news is that I was able to bleed it, just need to check if that is the normal process.

Another request I got was to see if the adaptation function was available. I will check tomorrow and post my findings.

I was able to also use it in my 996TT and in a 993 I was helping with. Worked flawlessly.

I've done the locks with the Bosch Hammer. As I recall, once hitting the button it pulses, but keeps moving the fluid until I tell it to stop. Then it has a depressurization phase.

Thank you. That is how I thought it would work... in my case it pulses for x amount of time then I need to restart it again. I will send a note to Durametric on this.

Jaime do I need to use something like that to bleed the brakes on the TT? I need to do the 2 year change pretty soon. The car is gong in tuesday to the dealer for a oil change and to see where the PS fluid is going before the CPO runs out in a couple of weeks. Thought I would do the brake fluid change on the TT when I do the 964 in a couple of weeks if possible. I wonder what they will give me for a loaner this time. That Cayman S was nice last time.

Bleeding the brakes on the 996TT is a breeze... no need for anything. Just a Motive Bleeder and you are done... not even a need to pinch a line like in the 964 or 993 (for those with a manual clutch of course )

I have fluid and motive bleeder if you want to do it here. Takes more time to take off the wheels than what it takes to bleed the brakes.

Dwane,

Because I don't know how many more Porsche I will have (wishful thinking), and because I knew I would use it to help out friends, I got the professional option with unlimited amount of VINs... also comes with all the cables (except for Cup cars).

Photo is the one you see in an earlier post, but here you go:

Thanks Jaime I have a motive bleeder. I guess I will finally have an excuse to put the TT up on my lift
Do we use the same ATE in the TT as the 964?
Darn dealer wanted a bunch of money to bled the brakes.

Jamie, Why the first photo of the Genisys system?
Do you run the Durametric software off of that system or a laptop?
thanks

I used some fancy stuff I had when I started getting ready for the DE, Castrol SRF. You should be fine with Motul.

Dwane, that first photo is a diag system a friend gave me... I don't use it with the Porsche.

I got the Durametric to get the information I needed from the Porsche. You need a laptop to run the Durametric software, correct.
