Yep... as long as someone didn't put an after market CD changer, amp, or other goodie in there. But, yes, it does fit between the suspension mounts.

seems the top does have to folded to fit anywhere inside the car.

That is correct. You can fit it in the back seat folded, or in the front luggage compartment folded. Or on top unfolded. :)

Targa top and Leaking question???

I am planning on getting either a 964 or 993 within the next 8 to 10 months, and since I used to own a 1992 c4 coupe I thought I would possibly go with either a cab or targa this time. I like the look of the 964 targa better than the 993 version (too much glass). I have read that they leak , but I was wondering how much or is this something that once the seals are fixed or replaced or possibly already in good condition, does it still leak??

Also were some years 90-91 or 92-94 better for the targa?

leak thats a four letter word, I'm sure they can be made not to leak, but theres a lot of $ rubber. i would check it before buying it.

The side bars hinge in the middle. Just push the hinge points inward and it buckles nicely. You have to flatten the front latch handles to get things to collapse fully. Fits easily in the front boot. You may want to give the vinyl a good cleaning and dressing if it is stiff. Dry lube the hinges and pins and you should be good to go! I always try to avoid leaving the collapsed top in the front boot for too long if I can avoid it.
