Saw a white 964 cabriolet at Carolina Motorsports Park this weekend, complete with roll bar, obviously set up as a full-time track car. I can't say that I see a lot of 964s (or any!) on any given day, but my office office window looks out onto the Dulles Toll Road/Access Road in McLean, Va. USA, and it's a rare day that I don't see several 911s (and the occasional Ferrari and/or Lambo) going up/down that highway on just about any day.

I saw a black C4 Targa at the train station parking garage on Thursday when I got off the train. Parked about four spaces from my C4 Coupe. It's very rare for me to see a 964.

Spotted: Today at 8:45AM on 1st Ave & 3rd St in Manhattan. Black 964 cab with the top down. Jersey plates, flag mirrors, Cup I wheels. Perfect weather for a drive in a cab!

I see 964's fairly often around here.

Hmmm,
I wonder if it has anything to do with regions. I see them with enough frequency that it does not seem rare to spot one. Saw 3 or 4 last week without really paying attention.

Possibly. New 996/997 are always spotted, as are Boxsters and Cayennes. Older Porsche's are not often spotted...perhaps it has to do with the wealth in the area during the time period each model was new?

Also 996/7 etc. are mass produced. Ours on the other hand were made in relatively small numbers. In general it is rare to see a 964 in NYC since most people here either drive beaters or super expensive cars.

If anyone happens to see this one let me know. It was stolen from my garage back on January 2nd at 4:50am in Snellville, GA. Thief got into my daily driver in the drive way and used garage door opener to get to this car. Foolish me for having an opener in that car. Learned lesson the hard way. Anyway, 1993 Targa, had GA plates, 9987-AFG. Black inside and out. Just installed Cobra racing seats. Harnesses, wing pedal, black harness bar, Al floor board drivers side, PSS9's.

I bought my 964 back in january, and have only seen 2 on the road since then. On both occassions, I was in my wife's mini, and would have looked a plonker flashing - which I would have definitely done if i was in mine

Oddly enough, if I saw a minivan heading my way and giving me the porsche flash, I think I'd be touched enough to give a flash back. A kindred spirit.
(Circumstances would have to be right, of course... including me being somewhat confident the guy was showing enthusiasm about the car and not for me being swept off the planet for some offense he took.)

Spotted: Sunday May 18 approx. 12:15 pm
Red 964 going West on Rt. 46 in Northern NJ.
Car was nice and clean.
I was out looking for cheap gasoline (3.85/Gallon was the cheapest I found for Sunoco 93)

In Chicago, I have seen two 964's a coupe and a cab. I see 993's once in a while, saw one today actually. A lot of boxsters, 996's and 997's. With the economy taking a dive sports cars are getting hard to find, they are all for sale.
