Mine is a bit of a garage queen, so it doesn't see the weather that some do. However, mine are still looking great. What was the process and paint you used?

I had trouble when I tried to clear coat mine the first time. I used a clear that was not compatable with the candy apple paint. Not sure if that may have something to do with your issue. (Mine actually attacked the base color coat, and wrinkled the already dried paint. I had to strip everything off and redo them. I used carb cleaner to wipe them down and remove the paint.)

If you prep correctly... 800-1000 grit full sanding of the entire area you are going to paint, wipe down to remove any oil and dirt (I used rubbing alcohol 90%), then light even coats. You should be fine.
Do you have a picture of the affected area?

Did mine about a year ago. 4-5 very light coats of red right out of the can, and 4-5 coats of clear. They have held up very well, but the car has not been over-exposed to sunlight. Perhaps in Calif or Florida there might be an issue.

I think the key to clean the lights VERY thoroughly, VERY light sanding, and VERY light coats of paint--then some wax . . .
