1 - Dash board , look from outside when standing by the gas cap filler door .
2 - Under the front hood . Pull up the carpet and look for it stamped into the metal .

I think the dash VIN depends on year of build. My 1991 RS doesn't have this but I know later one's do. It's easily spotted though.
Two locations inside the front compartment are a riveted plate on the left inner arch as you look at the car from the front, and stamped into a metal tab below the fuel tank (C4 might be different due to 4wd and different tank.)
