Default FSOT - E39 M5 for your 964!?!?

Pardon the blasphemy, and feel free to PM me to keep your name anonymous…

I have a very nice M5 but miss a 911 dearly and have been thinking of a 964. Anyone out there open to the idea of trading your 254 hp for my 400???

Anyway, here's a link to my autotrader ad with pics and info. I'm in OC, So Cal. Cheers.

Haha... yeah, I know. I figured it was more of a "trade + cash in consideration of the difference". I figure if I can find a So Cal 964 owner who's hip to the idea (and has a car I'd like), I can be a bit more aggressive with my car just because of the convenience.

I've an E39 M5 (similar interior but LeMans blue to match the body) and the 965 so luckily i've the best of both worlds - Mon to Fri in the beemer and then get the p-car out on the good weekends.

Any info on the DVD Nav upgrade as it a cool touch - hard to do??

Hey Steve... yes, that is the best of both worlds for sure!

The upgrade to MKIV from MKIII is plug and play (very easy). In my mind, it's the best bang-for-your-buck upgrade for the car... the DVD-based nav is so much faster and user friendly. I bought the MKIV off ebay (from Europe) for around $600 and sold the MKIII for around $300... best $300 upgrade I've ever done!

Cheers.

You have great taste in cars. Every time I think of selling my E39 M5 or 964 RS America, after a drive, I step back and reconsider. Keep the M5 and find a higher mileage RSA and enjoy both of them.

Thanks... I certainly do appreciate these driver's cars. I wish I could swing both actually. Wifey (attorney) left her firm in Oct and is going it on her own... I need to scale back a little, thus the trade (+ cash) idea. The Bimmer really is a great car, but a little more than I need at the moment.
