I'll have prices in a few days and in the mean time will try to work out a special "bulk buy" deal for fellow Rennlisters, more soon.

As Colin has said, it's my car the prototype bushes have been fitted to.

My C2 is a trackday car and its running H+R Supercup suspension with monoball top mounts and currently rides on 18ins Toyo 888 so road refinement isn't the same as a standard 964C2.

On the road I haven't really noticed much difference; there "might" be a bit more of the road texture coming through but there is no great change in that respect. What I have noticed is that the suspension doesn't "crash" as much over small harsh bumps like pot hole edges etc. Coupled with the previously fitted RS front A arms the whole car seems to ride slightly firmer but more compliant

On track the rear wheels do feel more planted; I noticed more stability under braking into bumpy corners and a more predictable and secure feel when leaning on the rear tyres under power coming out of corners.

I'm actually quite suprised at the difference changing the front and rear rubber bushes has made. Car feels like new and gives more confidance to push hard; A bit too hard today as i had a spin. A picture paints a thousand words so they say so by way of explanation.

what is your spring rate front and rear ?

Cupcar 10-01-2008 07:26 PM

If the bushes do what the factory RS bushes did, the car should be more sensitive to lifting of the throttle mid turn when cornering at track speeds. The car should oversteer relatively more than the normal C2 bushes would but you should be able to catch it with reapplication of throttle.

er thanks for that :D

go back to August last year at an airfield day and we just couldn't get the car to oversteer on a high speed corner and I've sort of been working on that principle ever since .... until now lol.

To be fair driving in that sort of weather on worn semi slicks was asking for trouble and I suspect today was just over application of throttle and it wasn't for being caught once it started, well not by me anyway. No harm done though.

Braver man than me Tony, I was undecided about coming in the first place but after taking one look out of the window in the morning I decided to leave the RS in the garage - over 400hp in these conditions on motorsport suspension is not my idea of "fun". Well done for braving the elements.

Will these bushings work well on a Turbo?

I don't see any reason why not. it's the same design of mounting as the stock 964 and RS.

We will be commissioning 20 car sets of these bushes tomorrow, expected delivery in 2-3 weeks. I anticipate shipping half of these across the Pond in one box for the group buy - so anyone who expressed an interest in the thread is likely to get a PM early next week to confirm their orders.

Actually, the RS mount was standard equipment on the European Turbo 3.6, the USA Turbo 3.6 used the standard C2 mount.

Obviously Porsche has more faith in the European drivers ;)

How much will the price on the RS version be? Does this kit include bushing for both front and rear wheel bushings?

ThomasC2 10-05-2008 05:07 AM

The kit is just for replacing the "big bushing" in the rear traling arms, the price looks like £195 plus shipping, and I guess the price will be the same regardless of version. Maybe a Swedish group buy ;-)

Ie, I would also like a set if possible ..

NineMeister 10-05-2008 09:48 PM

The group buy price for this initial batch of 20 car sets is £170 excluding VAT and shipping, more than happy to cover all our Scandinavian friends in this offer.
