Bill, I'd rather not other than to say that it can be substantial depending on the height of the car.

I maximize the caster - usually 4-4.5 degrees. The most I've seen is from an Alex Job RSR (GT2 tub) which was able to get 6 degrees.

Camber will depend on how you drive the car, and what tires you use, and what track you are at (if racing)

Toe will depend on ride height. In general, I don't run toe out on the front

Your 993 rear end has another whole set of issues to be concerned with and depending on what links you have will depend on how the rear bump steer is managed.

Anybody have a suspension analysis program?

It would be interesting to change the axle height by 30 mm and see what happens to roll center height with suspension motion.

WIth the standard 964 suspension, you can make your own bump steer kit by modifying the upright to use a spacer on the tie rod and then replacing the tie rod end with a heim joint. This helps lower the tie rod so the toe change isn't as great.
Geoffrey how do you meen?

the upright have a angel and allso the tierod if i replace the tierod with i heim joint the it going to brake

or have the NA 964 not that angel on the upright?

It is something that you'll need to fabricate, and there are lots of ways to solve the problem depending on what tools you have available to you. I would not want to make specific recommendations on how to modify a steering component of the car that, if done improperly, could cause a catastrophic failure.

With regard to the differences between 964 and 993 front lower control arms, they are different in that the ball joint pivot stud [pressed into the control arm] is larger in diameter on the 993. That is the only difference in the lower control arms that I know of.

Just an update re 993 or 993 RS/Evo uprights on a 964.

I measured my aliminum 993 and 993RS upright strut mounting boss @ ~18.3mm. Word from a couple of 964 owners is that their struts have the same spacing so it looks like maybe these are useable w/ 964 struts. The lower bolt on the 993 parts is 14 mm on 964(at least some of them) it is 12mm so the lower bolt holes will need enlargement and the nut/bolt upgraded

What about wheel bearings. Are they all interchangeable or do you need to run a 964 bearning with the 964 hub and vv for 993?

Has anyone confirmed the difference on the lower ball joint? i.e. have to use 993 instead of 964?

Thx.

The front wheel bearings can't be removed and reinstalled, new uprights will need new bearings, if you buy 993RS upights you also need 993 bearings and 993RS outer tierod ends at a minimum, probably also need wheel speed sensors, don't forget that 964 and 993 stub axles while interchangeable don't have the same tooth count, keep the 964 axle w/ the 964

Thanks. I am guessing the RS rods are too short for a widebody and I will need GT2s.

Have a good weekend.
