Camber changes as the suspension moves up and down. When the suspension is compressed there is additional camber from where it is set with the car neutral.

WIth the standard 964 suspension, you can make your own bump steer kit by modifying the upright to use a spacer on the tie rod and then replacing the tie rod end with a heim joint. This helps lower the tie rod so the toe change isn't as great.
If anyone has done this, please chime in with a pic. I think I will go this route as opposed to the GT2 upright...at least for now.

Don't know if I get this right but what's the big fuss about gt2 uprights, if regular 993 uprights will do the job?? I would really like to address this problem!!

Thanks

BTW do I feel it more since I have a manual rack??

Do the GT2 EVO uprights provide a better camber curve/gain than the normal 964 uprights?

Interesting, what is difference with 964? I wonder why it is called "GT2 Evo" and not just "993"?

The 993 RS upright raises the axle 30 mm which would lower the car without compromising wheel travel and would also keep the roll center higher.

Will the 993 RS fit a 964?

The 993RS is the same as the GT2 Evo, they are the same part.

Thanks, that is what I thought. I was confused with the use of "GT2" and "Evo" to describe them and thought they were perhaps racing parts for GT2.

What they really are are Euro 993 RS street parts that are also used on the racing variants of 993 chassis.

Part numbers 993.341.157.81 and 993.341.158.81 for the uprights.

The tie rods that go with them are 993.347.031.81

Where did the "Evo" come from anyway???

I don't know, I have always heard them referred to as GT2 Evo uprights. They were required on the 993RS because that is the car that homologated the 993RSR. Evo is the evolution version of the GT2, or the last variant of that model racing car. You raise an interesting point.

Can a 993 front suspension be tranplanted to a 964 C2? I have access to a hit in the back '95 993 with Bilstein struts and ROW M030 springs and sways. Am mostly interested in an alloy upright and 993 brakes. THe EVO stuff is out of my price range

Can I use the?
struts
springs
uprights
sway bar
drop links

do I also need?
A arms
tie rods inner/outer
ABS sensors and toothed wheels
anything else?

TIA

Yes, the front 993 suspension is interchangable with the 964 front. The rear obviously is not. You'll need the 993 tie rods though.

Thanks!

How about the A arms, ball joints and abs stuff, do I need that too or is it the same as 964?

The arms have a different part number, but are fundamentally the same, you can use either 964 or 993 arms. Ball joints should be different since the 964 goes into a steel hub carrier and the 993 goes into an aluminum hub carrier. I believe the diameter dimensions are different. You will need to use the 45 teeh ABS rings from the 964 to have your ABS function properly. You can use the 964 hub and assembly in the 993 hub carrier, or you can simply remove the 964 ABS ring and press it on the 993 part. The 993 Brake calipers will bolt directly to the 993 hub carrier and you should be able to use the 964 brake lines, but you may need to replace them with 993 parts.

Geoffrey can you comment more on the camber patterns vs ride height and roll couple w/ the RS/EVO uprights. As you know that's my next project. Also suggested caster, camber and toe @ the suggested height?
