O.K two more questions before I drop this sucker
Hi all,
I have two more questions before I drop my 964 engine. 1) Will I need to drain the trans fluid if I change out my fly wheel and clutch?, and 2) in the picture below (which came from one of Geoffrey's post), the top factory 964 C2 shifter rod, in order for me to move the shift coupler forward for the engine drop, I'll need to remove the bottom "body fit" bolt and the side screw?. If so, what is the size of the side screw?. Thanks again for all your help.

You do not have to drain the transmission.
I only remember there being one bolt to loosen to release the shift coupler. If there is another one, it's not hard to access or remove.

yep, and lower it SLOWLY - you never know if you forgot to disconnect something or you are jamming up some disconnected part like a drive shaft.
Good on 'ya - I remember my first 911 engine drop - it's quite rewarding

Thanks guys. Sorry for being a little thick but at some point at which the engine is coming down, I'll need to pull the engine back for the transmission shifter rod to clear the shift coupler?.

No. Once you loosen the shift coupler bolt, then hop in the car and pull the stick shift towards the rear of the car, this will move the shift rod forward, separating it from the transmission.
