964 russ,

Beautiful car and Carrera script!

I have a question for you: I have that same fixed-length strut brace and CANNOT for the life of me figure out how to install it!! How did you do it?

I bought mine from Cosmo Racing (online-only vendor in Montreal) and they swear it is plug & play, drop-in installation. Racing Dynamics also make a similar bar.

From what I’ve heard, both are clones of the original Porsche Motorsports GT2 bar. I after assurances from Cosmo that it was a simple, quick process, I tried installing it and the fixed length of the hole-pattern doesn’t allow for it to drop in -due to the strut tower bolts being canted inward slightly. I tried un-weighting the front end of the car, but no improvement.

Tried my mechanic and he couldn’t figure out a solution without completely loosening and dropping the whole suspension tower. Other 964 friends in the area are stumped as well.

Did you loosen/drop your suspension in order to install this brace?

Thanks,
Morgan

Morgan it was easy.
I removed the 4 nuts, put one side on the threads, at this point i thought it wont fit either. Then i put sum weight on it, flexin the brace, gave it a wiggle and then its on. Nuts back on, job done.
Its tight but only took me 10mins to fit. IMO its better a tight fit then full ov adjustment or possible play.
