Default This feels strange...selling the 964...

Well, after nearly 4 years, I'm putting my 964 up for sale.

I've taken her from 65,000 miles to 133,000 in that time - every one of them a joy and not a single missed beat in all of that time. All year round, in all weathers. Amazing.

Thanks to Zaino, she still looks as good today as she did 4 years (and all those miles) ago.

I'm boased, but I think mine is the nicest 964 there is - in spite of all the others I've seen over the years, there's not been one I would have changed mine for.

Midnight Blue paint suite the 964 perfectly, making it look much younger than it is.

There's not a lot to add - the car has been faltless, it gets treated to regular servicing and all major consumables have been changed in my tenure (clutch, RS flywheel, discs, pads, fluid, dampers.etc)

I'm after £17,000 - interested parties sould email me at rob@total911.com.

For more info, you can always read through the many issues of Total 911 Magazine where this car has featured.

Rob

edit: it's a 1993 Carrera 2 Manual.

Good luck with the sale. The car looks perfect. Now, how far are you planning to jump?

Well, I knew someone would ask!

As my 911 is a daily driver, I think I need a younger car. The younger 911s also have the advantage of being cheaper to maintain, and I should also benefit from some of the costs which I currently 'endure' which are simply age-related.

Anyway, I think it's going to be a MK2 GT3. Prices seem to have settled, they're a damn good car and, without seeming to give too much credit to the 964, I think the GT3 is the ideal successor to the 964. Mk1 GT3 proces don;t seem to be much lower than Mk2, and given the 5 year age gap, it makes sense to go for Mk2.

However, I'm going go take my time. My 964 took 6 months to find, and I expect it'll be a matter of patience to wait for the right GT3. I'll be buying based on condition of course, but I also want the car to be Midnight Blue preferably, which will narrow down the selection a little. Most appear to be silver, and much as this is the perfect discreet colour, I just don;t want a silver car.

Anyway, this all rests on selling the 964, and I'm not 100% sure I'll actually let it go!

Wow.
Does this mean I get to take your spot in the "living the legend" section?

Seriously though sad to hear you are dropping the 964, but I can certainly understand it. The GT3 is a phenomenal car, and it has almost 20 years of refinements to make sure that it will be a pleasing daily driver. (I would love one, but my 964 is never in one piece long enough to sell!)

Good luck with your selling & new purchase.

No shame in replacing the 964 with a GT3... wow... nice move.

Best of luck with the sale. Sure looks like a beauty. Be sure to introduce the new owner to the group here.

Always happy to hear from new Legends writers...if you fancy it, just send a sample 1000 word column to phil@9publishing.co.uk :-)

Must keep the 964 balance right in the mag!

I see what happened. John Boggiano sold his 964, bought a GT3, and then flew past you on the track. You thought, "right, that's it, I need a GT3!"
Just kidding of course. Good luck on your sale and I'll be really interested to see the Midnight GT3 since I've never even seen a picture of one let alone one in real life. Have you?

Wow, I surely don't like seeing another Total 911 guy leaving the 964!

Remember us little guys in the 964's.

Best of luck with your sale and purchase of your new car!

No need to ask. Look at the wheels - they are still round, so aspect ratio is correct.

Well spotted! So it must just be the camera angle. The car certainly *looks* longer than mine!
