The 964 design is back!

Have you noticed in the latest pics from Porsche that they once again are going for the all-red rear lights. Everything goes back to the overall flawless and brilliant 964 model...the peak in the 911-evolution!

IIRC, the red tail lights have been an option for sometime now, back on the 996TT in 2001/2002.

996C4S had the center reflector....and the red tail lights as option.

Yeah I know the 996 4S etc had the rear reflector but the 996 cars had red rear/brake lights with clear lenses for the turn signal. These lights that been a an option for a while on the later 997 car and are more or less all-red like the 964 lights. I think they look pretty good!

The 911 is going on the right track though! All they have to do now is get every ounce of cheap plastic out of the interior, build the cars to feel solid like tanks and change the motor back to air cooled & we'll be set! Good luck on any of the above ever happening!

Actually, kidding aside, the newest models of the 911 do look quite nice (especially the S version ;) ), but very different car than the 964

"very different car than the 964"
I agree, and not for the best IMHO. I took a test drive in a 996 GT3 mk2, and found it too 'remote' and that's supposed to be the purest of the modern machines.
Made my decision to keep my turbo and chuck a proportion of the price difference into some mods!
:burnout:
