Default Gear shift **** replacement

I'm replacing all my carpet over the winter, have to take the console out and want to see what options are out there to replace my gear **** and leather boot with something a little more up to date.

Anyone replaced theirs?

Thanks

Mark

Have you considered the shift ****/boot from the 964 Cup cars? A bit more comfortable positioning, all OEM parts.

Looks a bit like the Ruf unit.

Can you describe this (or have a picture)? In all the Cup Car interior pics I've seen, it looks like a stock, black ****. Does it feature a shorter shaft for use with a short shifter? I think I have Weltmeister short shifter in my car and the stock boot/**** shaft is about an inch too long.

It is the same black ****, it's what's underneath that's different/nice. Moves the shifter up, making it more comfortable; also a nicer feel due to the mechanics underneath. All OEM parts.

It was discussed in this thread (and a few others):
