Attaching Rosette for door opener strap
We us small countersunk stainless sheet metal screws. We premount these to the panels prior to shipment.
The part from Porsche has 2 holes to accept the screws.

Hawk - Took about 2 wks in total to make as and when I could grab ten minutes. Prob. about 6 man hours in total.

I bought from a sailing supplies place on the net.
Bought some red webbing tubing as well with the hope of inserting some rope but the colour of the webbing was slightly different to the opening pulls I'd already made.
Did try doubling up by gluing but the straps were too thick.
So just used one thickness and after using a soldering iron to make some holes, hammered in an eyelet.
One positive about using webbing is that if it gets dirty or tatty looking a new pair cost nothing to make.
Cost was about £1.50 per metre.

Same with mine, couple of big globs of silicone, put in place and stuff a towel in to fill the gap. Wait 24hours and remove the towel. Result a perfectly stuck crosover to teh outer skin of the door (which is a pita to move if if slips!! guess what happened to mine?)
