Combination Jack/Jackstands
When you jack under the jacking points, it's difficult to get jack stands in, since the jack is there. Sears has a jack with removable jackstands. You jack up the car and then remove the jack, leaving an adjustable jack stand in place. The jack comes with two stands and costs around $200.00.

Combo/jack & Jack Stands
Just wanted to mention an alternative. Sears has what they call a lift & jack system. The jack places an adjustable jack stand under the jacking point, then you withdraw the jack. Comes with 2 stands. price in the Craftsman Club book is $249.00.

Sears Combo jack/Jackstands
Sears is selling a new product, a jack with detachable jack stands that you can place under the jacking point. You will probably still have to get the car up on a small block, since they require 6.5" clearance. $250.00 in the Craftsman Club flyer.

Just bought the black 3 ton one from costco! I think the 3 tons refers to the weight of it!!!
Certainly inspires confidence.. Now when the good weather ends, I'll have a poke around underneath and see what falls off!!

I just flushed the slave cylinder today... I'm pretty much doing as Steve described, however with the car lowered, I need to sit the tires up on a block before I can get the 3 ton under the engine. I have the Cosco jack. Sams has one too, but I think it is a 3 1/2 ton and does not have as good of clearance. http://www.samsclub.com/shopping/nav...=5&item=344333
The below bottle jack works pretty well too once the rear of the car is in the air. Its a bottle jack with a mechanical link and therefore combines the best of a hydraulic with a flat top jack stand. The sears thing looks interesting too, but I'd be tempted to get another 3 ton before I did that... fairly cheap... a real lift seems more interesting..... I have a few of the aluminum jacks laying around... literally... I bought the ones at harbor freight and they blew out their seals... pretty bad when one is lisfting half of a 3k car with a two ton jack. No more aluminum jacks for me.
You need to first jack the car up from the rear to use this one, but once up, you can get two feet on the bottle jack.
