Hey Donovan,

The car looks great. Don't know what the guy on the phone at CCW was sniffin' when I spoke to him but your car is proof of a 17" fitment. Oh yeah and your car is also cool because it is the FASTEST 911 color!

Hi guys, these pix were before the alignment. I'm running more camber now and a little lower in the rear. I spoke to John & Chip @ CCW and they both were aware of the 911 17" fitment. Call them again. There is no 17" fitment for the 1-piece C14's, if that's what they meant.

The wheels were about 2400$ + 800$ tires + 200$ shipping to California.

Seems like a bit too much sidewall in the rear tire. I do not know that a 35 would be correct, but I think it would be closer. A 255/40 is a correct size, so in going up 20 on the width, a drop on 5 on the sidewall ration would be good. Wouldn't help much on the rubbing, but maybe slightly. A narrower tire would also obviously work. The RA1 runs a bit wide i believe.

Unfortunately there is no other option if you want to run 275 in 17". Profile 40 is the only thing available. I run 235/40 in front and 275/40 in the rear. The only other option to bring the sidewall thickness would be running 255's.

I'm happy to report back that the setup worked beautifully at the track today. So, the rolling of the fenders worked.

My brakes boiled over today, very quickly. Very unnerving experience but I got back on the track next session!!!

Will the "ate" stuff b any better? Its double the cost, is it worth the cost?

Don't you think 235/45 is a better front tire size - the rolling radius tolerance is closer to the 275/40? That's what I run on 8/9's...

I believe I'm using Dot 3 ... not sure as my buddy did the last brake bleed and we used his fluid. I am going to put Super Blue stuff in there this week. It's no fun having your brakes boil over on you, believe me. For some reason it happened really fast too --- I didn't have too many laps warning.
