Looking for a LSD for my 964 while I am having an engine swapped out. Anyone with any leads?

Thanks / H_D

Paul Guard? :)

I know that this is a long shot given that Iam on the other side of the pond and that the Dollar is worth half of the Pound, but we have our new G50 carbon plate diff available from stock. The carbon friction plates last up to 70 times longer than standard plates with the advantage of increasing friction when they get hot (i.e. on track) and it has been carefully designed with the same 20/100 locking factor as the 964RS. The price for this unit is £895 plus taxes/shipping where appropriate.

Last time I checked, a new Guard LSD runs $2,350.

That's $1824.30 as of today so depending on tax and shipping it may be in the ballpark!

Well, it's not quite half of where it dipped (I lucked out on my Radical 4 years ago @ 1.53 to 1 exchange), but even at your retail it's not out of the ballpark. ESPECIALLY if it's a better unit! Will definitely keep it in mind as I morph the RSA this winter.

Buy the 996 Cup LSD from Porsche Motorsport. It is strong and has a good balance, 45/60.It should cost 18-1900 USD. I installed one before this season and I'm very, very pleased with it!

For the hardcore track users we have an 80/80 diff available off the shelf and we are working on a 40/65 version of the diff at the moment which should be available by the end of the year. Also have planned a similar rated diff for the Cayman but this will take a little longer to make as it is a completely new housing design.

I am getting ready to swap out trans and have a LSD out of 996 in my G50 (plate) that is in good condition - It is a locker - Have only used the LSD for 7 events ( autocross only) so the plates are still like new - Would be willing depart with for $850. - As the trans I am working on now already has a LSD-

Thanks Guys ...

I will be contacting Gus as I was looking for a Rennlist/Pelican member helping member type of situation ... read: used and under a grand.

I do appreciate the replies. The suggestion of Guard is a good one. I believe I was told their 40% unit was in the $1500 range. This is going in a street/10 day per year DE car.
