Engine serial ID

I am looking into buying a 3.6l out of a 1992 C2 and putting it in my 911sc. I have located a low mileage engine, but I want to see if it was assembled with a headgasket.

Engine serial #: 62N506xx

Thanks in advance!

I want to keep this secure. Are the last 2 digits needed to id this?

The 3rd digit "N" indicates it's a 1992 motor. 1992 motors have the headgasket.

K=89
L=90
M-91
N=92
P=93
R=94

Did I have the years 1991 and 1992 mixed up then?

Not that I don't trust you Steve. I just want to be really sure it has head gaskets. Can anyone else verify this as well.

The headgaskets began in the 1991 model year after engine serial # 62M06836 on manual transmission engines and on engine serial # 62M52757 on Tiptronic transmission engines.

So, all 1992's have the headgaskets.
