Default Installed a 997 Shifter

For those who want a different shifter, the 997 shifter was a easy upgrade. I got the DYI from the 993 forum(do a search). IMO, it look great. I'm think about getting 997 seats or Cayman S seats to match. My interior in too much of one color.

Only thing that bothers me is the missing 6th gear.

Is there anyone who sells the replacement caps like rennbay has for 944s?

"My interior in too much of one color."

You should consider dyeing your seats or other panels black. Dyeing things black is no big deal and looks great. Seats only cost $150 each for dye.

RUF Dallas tells me that 997 or Cayman seats will not fit a 993 as they are too large. I assume the same for the 964.

Patrick, I had thought of dyeing the seats, door panels and dash black, but if I don't like the results its irreversable. I rather buy new/used parts to see how they look and if the look dosen't meet my eyes I can change it back. If there's a Rennlister in the SF Bay Area with black interior that would like to trade interior part or mix match the parts, that would be great. You might be right on about the fitement of the 997/Cayman seats. I really like the stiching though.

Looks good, but I do not like the 6-speed cap either. I wonder if the base model 5-speed Boxster/Cayman shifter cap will fit on the 997 shifter? May be worth a try unless they are totally different.
