That is the way the hat fits in the opening.

If you see the pic at top, its the passenger side front that I was working on. Th paint dot faces the front of the car. Notice the hat sits closer to the inside of the car (ie the hat is not centered within the four bolts). You need to put it back the way it was installed. The dot help orient the hat in the hole. I hope my explanation makes sense.

The one on the site is definitely 7/8ths... I have one of those too. The 22mm one has a wider opening and actually says 22...but I did not see it on the site. I'm in LA at the moment, but will post it when I get back home this weekend. Can't beat $5.

Rob,
I took the family to northern NH last week for vacation... had a great time and could not get over how pretty the state is! I had not been there in 10 years... I had my 30th reunion from Pinkerton. I think it was 104 in atlanta last week but a cool 72 up at loon mountain. I expected to see a number of 911's drivng through the mountains.. but only saw two the entire week. Your social life must be rough!

Here is the other socket with the wide slot at Harbor Freight, this must be the one referenced earlier in this thread. So does this work at slightly larger 22.22 mm size? Seems like it should.
