Default Pics of my new C4

Having lurked here for a couple of weeks now since I bought my first Porsche I thought that I'd join in and post a few pics.

It's a 1991 C4, with 139k on it but what swung it for me was the extensive and detailed history, with some big money having just been spent on the suspension, oil lines and cosmetics. At the moment I'm using it every day and am really pleased with the car - no doubt there will be problems along the way and I've budgeted for a top end overhaul at some point, although to be honest I'm hoping that it won't need one for a while.

Great forum by the way - most useful when I was carrying out my pre-purchase research!

Super looking machine, welcome and congrats! When I had my C2 I bought the carrera decals but never fitted them (too lazy) - seeing yours I wish I had. Looks in very nice shape both inside and out. Don't worry about the mileage, 139k is nothing...just do a search on high mileage and you'll be amazed at how these things last. I like the suspension settings too, it seems to be sitting really nice.

Enjoy

You're not far from me in Milton Keynes. That looks remarkably like Fen's car - there can't be many cars in that colour with the Carrera side decals.

You ought to come along to the next Rennlist SE meet on 15th July. We meet up at the Worcester Park pub (in Worcester Park, Surrey). See the SE meet post for details.

Regards

Dave

Nice car, except for the steering wheel mistake.

Thanks for the welcoming comments everyone and yes it is - or rather was - Fen's car. One of the great things about forums is that often you can see a lot of the car's history online!

My previous 'toy' was a Zetec engined Lotus Elan that I built over a period of 18 months. I did a couple of track days in it and then sold it when one of the guys on Lotus Elan.net made me an offer that I couldn't really refuse - although in reality I probably just about broke even on the car. My first thought for a replacement was an early 911, but couldn't find what I wanted, and when I did it was way over budget... I hadn't considered 964's seriously until I saw Fen's car, and then I was hooked!

Actually it drives so well (behaving faultlessly in the snarl up on the way back from the Goodwood festival of speed at the weekend) that I'm seriously considering using it all year round, financing the maintenance with my company car allowance.

Thanks also for the invitation to the SE meet - I'll put it in the diary!
