Unfinished or not even started project list?

So I was thinking there are a few boxes of parts in the garge that I haven't attempted to put on the Porsche yet. What do you have laying around?

Here's mine:

1. Driver door sill weatherstripping
2. Ultimate Pedals
3. Radio Antennae replacement
4. rocker panel seals (just got them)
5. rear seats to accommodate child (and car seat)

Miscellaneous other replacements like dizzy belt....

The car itself is lying around somewhere...;)

Christer- send it to me. I'll find time for that ride.

Things that need attention:

1. Antenna wire from windshield had come loose. I'm not sure how to re-attach to windshield. (If it can be done)

2. Still haven't installed new 6x9 MB Quart speakers in the rear deck. Rear deck and speakers are NEW just need to cut and install speakers

3. Wheels can use refreshing. NO curb rash, just needs a refinish to make perfect

Upcoming things to do:
1) Install Bilsteins and H&Rs
2) Align and corner balance
3) Install Ultimate pedals
4) Refinish wheels. Some curb rash (from PO). Kinda embarrasing.
5) Bleed brakes
6) Figure out how to replace the fuel filter. Magilla Gorilla must have replaced the last one, since I can't break the inbound flange nut loose

You have to use 2 wrenches. It was a bit of a pain when I did over the winter.

Newbium 06-07-2007 12:03 PM

I did. I even went out and bought the proper flange nut wrenches. But all I'm doing is rounding off the nut. I also took it down to a local mechanic, and he wasn't able break it loose, either.

huh. And it's not a good idea to apply some heat to that joint. Have you tried liquid wrench- like PB Blaster?

jimq 06-07-2007 12:07 PM

1. remove the peeling black paint off the front of the cab top frame. Chrome underneath so thats good.
2. put the car on the lift and see what is clunking in the driver side back wheel when I first back up after the car has sat for a few days. (think its the brake pad)
3. clean the brake dust off the inside of the wheels
4. find the PS leak in the back. I know where the front leak is :grr:
5. find time to drive both the cars :(

Newbium 06-07-2007 12:25 PM

I haven't tried the liquid wrench approach yet, but I will this weekend. Thanks for the suggestion.

it would be a pain, and possibly overkill, but if you take the RHS intake off, you get a TON more room to work. Take the MAF off too.

Cupcar#12 06-07-2007 01:41 PM

humm....
1. replace shifter rod 964 424 019 08 (new part #) & boot
2. install oil cooler fan
3. re-install horn - make sure everything is working (it is not currently)
4. another oil change to 15-50 for hot weather driving in Ca.

wash and wax if i have time over the next 2 weeks

tbennett017 06-07-2007 02:49 PM

Completed:
B+B exhaust off -> Stock on for emissions
Multiple on/off of various G-pipe combinations for sound.. all disappointing...
Antenna re-hook up (unsuccessful)
iPod integration
New Clock (user error)
Date with the wheel fairy (new to me Cup1s with Michelin Pilot Sports)

To do:
Knocking at summer temps: oil thermostat? Engine mech issues? Chip/MAF? this could go on for days...
Seat motors are non-op
Need to investigate suspension -> lower car from offroading height - and who knows what that will get me into...I have bilsteins with some room on the spring perches.. but this will cost me I'm sure
Horn RnR

and finally get out to my first DE... hee.

I have a pile of supercharger parts waiting for me to find the time to drop my engine.
Hopefully 3rd week of june, if other jobs dont get in the way.
