Question Tiptronic shift **** removal?

I need to replace the leather on the shift **** on my Tip, as it is coming undone around the button.

I've talked to Alan Gun at AGLA and he has a kit, which I could fit myself. I'm wondering how easy a job it is to remove the **** on a Tip?

Just unscrew the center button. Then you just pull the shift **** upward.

Thanks! I unscrewed the button, but I wasn't able to pull the **** off. I didn't want to use too much force: does it require a strong pull?

Julian,
Mine is a 2 arm pull straight off the stem...careful you don't whack yourself in the forehead when she comes loose. Don't try to rotate the ****, it's keyed on the stem, just pull.

Thanks for the advice. I ended up repairing the stitching. Here was the problem:

(the central button is unscrewed and removed). This was slowly driving me crazy as I could feel it every time I changed gear.

After pulling off the **** (two hands, but comes easily enough):

I then re-stitched the leather using a needle and thread, cleaned it up with some Leatherique Pristine Clean, and then tucked it back inside the hole. It's important to tuck it inside the inner metal sleeve, otherwise the button wont go down properly when reattached

End result:
