Default Hood locked shut. Need help!

When installing the battery back after winter storage, I accidently touched the latch with the wrench, causing a huge spark (pls don't laugh). The latch became instantly glow-red. But the hood shut like usual, so I thought I got lucky and nothing happened. Well, I thought wrong - now the hood does not open. Its not the pull handle problem, so its under the hood. Question is how do I get it open.
P.S. The spare is not in there, so I was thinking to drill a hole in the trunk bottom....., but maybe I should keep my hands off off it with my luck.

Don't sweat it. We all make mistakes. This has been discussed before. See https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...ease+emergency

While the handle is pulled , try push down on the hood , bounce on it lightly ?
Or while the handle is pulled , try pull up the hood gently ?

Happened to me; I found disconnecting the hadle from the dash gave me just that little bit more cable tension; enough to pop the latch.

no secondary cable on cars pre 1992. However I drilled a 1 inch hole in the floor and pulled the latch open. Now I just need to close the damn hole.
Thanks guys for the input.

Replacement sealing plates (covers) are available for the front trunk floor, Porsche part no. 964-504-209-00 with an MSRP of $6.42USD

Haha, I have to admit to doing exactly the same! Huge bang, lots of smoke and almost a heart attack! Luckily the car was fine...
