Looking for bare metal interior pics
 

Mainly the rear seat area so I can tell how much metal is there for me to weld to. Anyone? anyone? Bueller?

Geoff.. Try looking up Geoffrey's posts on building his race car. He had a lot of great shots.

I've got my racecar sitting in the garage, what part of the rear seat area are you looking for?

I talked with Geoffrey; he didn't have any pictures of the bare metal. He did support what I was after and gave me some tips.

JRichard- what I need is the seat pan area, and just above it. If you follow the tranny tunnel, just above it running side to side on the tub is a "ledge". It's on this ledge that I need to weld in a brace and a couple of nuts to fit this goofy 993 rear seat bracket. The bracket is shorter than the space in the tub, and there are no pre-existing bolt holes.

Here's the bracket, from the back side. Keep in mind the bottom of that bracket sits on the ledge. I also posted my carpeted ledge for reference.

Can you give me just above the tunnel, where that wire is running along? Geoffrey and I agree that I can have a 1/16" plate welded along the ledge, and I should be able to drill into the ledge to give some extra space for the bolts to go, making sure they are securely into the metal. The pictures just solidify the area I'm working on; mine is still covered with sound deadener until I'm sure it's safe to strip all that crap off.

Take it as it you were straddling the shifter- that will give me the shot I need (not you on the shifter either) :D

That's great- thanks. It looks like I have a good inch of area to play with, and have a plate welded on, then nuts welded to the plate for securing the bracket.
